About Us

Foundations Accounting and Investments (FAI) is a multi-service central office at NC State University that reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Finance and University Treasurer.

WHAT WE DO

FAI is responsible for providing investment, financial reporting, budgeting, accounting and corporate governance oversight services for NC State University’s Associated Entities, including:

  • Seven university-related foundations, including a subsidiary LLC, NC State Executive Education, LLC
  • NC State Investment Fund, Inc. (NCSIF)
  • The Endowment Fund of NC State University
  • North Carolina State University Alumni Association, Inc.
  • NC State University Partnership Corporation, Inc., including subsidiary LLCs

FAI provides investment services only for the NC State Student Aid Association, Inc. (Wolfpack Club). References to other services on this website do not apply to the Student Aid Association.

FAI is comprised of two offices:

  • Associated Entities Operations
  • Office of Investments

Associated Entities Operations

Associated Entities Operations (AEO) provides accounting and corporate governance services to NC State’s Associated Entities.

These services include routine accounting services; audit, tax and other financial reporting activities; operating cash management; corporate governance oversight; Board of Directors and committee support; gift agreement review;
fund setup and maintenance; endowment accounting and maintenance; assistance with amending existing fund agreements when the donor is unavailable; and much more!

Office of Investments

The Office of Investments (OI) is a team of investment professionals with diverse backgrounds, whose primary objective is to invest endowed assets in a manner that preserves their purchasing power and generates an income stream that is able to support the university’s and associated entities’ spending needs for their operating budgets and various mission-driven initiatives.

The Office of Investments is responsible for the governance, manager selection and investing of the university’s and associated entities’ endowments, as well as their short- to intermediate-term cash funds.
